"History is in a greater part, mystery. Archaeology delves into the mysteries of the past, piecing together the puzzles from the ages before recorded time. What is unearthed often demonstrates how little we have changed, pieces of the past resembling pieces of the present. The substance that has sustained us from then to now can be held in the ancient shard of clay that was the water vessel. Our past is held in the present… a clay pot resting in the hand. Touch the mystery.

"Prehistoric bones rise from the earth, ancient monoliths pierce the sky, exotic ceramics from a mysterious land scattered across the horizon.. .three dimensional icons celebrating antiquity, colour, texture and form." For me, as the artist, those bones rise from my past, a mysterious land, ancient monoliths piercing the present and the future. They are three dimensional icons of a protective power greater than myself that has journeyed with me through a dark and uncertain past to an optimistic and positive now . In these sculptures I embrace and own them as they take me into tomorrow.

A Wild Heart
An exhibition of wild life paintings by GINA DAVEY
Gina has been involved in art, in some form or another, her whole life - be it music, performance or visual.
The last few years have been dedicated to painting, with wildlife being the main focus. In the pursuit of gathering reference material for her paintings, it has been necessary to travel far and wide, which has fostered a love of travelling and 'roughing it' in remote places of New South Wales and Queensland.
Gina has won several competitions, both locally and nationally. Her work hangs in several prominent businesses and she has sold work internationally as well as having
collectors who seek her latest pieces.
With being a much sort after tutor and exhibiting widely, life is always busy but she enjoys every moment of it and wouldn't have it any other way.
